    • What is SocialWise VR?

    SocialWiseVR (SWVR) is the first virtual reality social experience that improves the social awareness of neurodiverse young adults through cinematic and realistic scenarios using live actors.

    • Why did we create SocialWise VR?

    As educators and behavior specialists, we support young adults through life’s many transitions. As our clients transitioned from high school to university, their social interactions and relationships became more complex. While traditional methods of teaching these skills are critical in supporting our students, we wanted to develop a new, more exciting way to teach social interaction. Virtual Reality allows our students to learn and practice new skills in a safe environment, allowing our users to practice new social situations!

    • How does SocialWiseVR work?

    SocialwiseVR is an immersive, virtual reality experience designed on the Meta Quest headset. We have created a library of scenarios with challenges that learners explore. Learners participate in each challenge independently on the client app. At the same time, a facilitator (therapist or educator) supervises the session, monitors progress, and provides the learner with immediate feedback on the facilitator app.

    • What is the difference between SWVR Client App and SWVR Facilitator App?

    The SWVR Client App is the Meta Quest run application that hosts our library of scenarios with challenges for learners to participate in an immersive virtual reality experience. Meta Quest headsets.

    The SWVR Facilitator App is a Windows PC-run application that enables the facilitator to supervise and provide the learner with live guidance and feedback.

    • Who should use SocialWiseVR?

    SocialWise VR is currently only available for use for professionals who support Neurodivergent neurodivergent young adults (ages 18-25) as a means to provide exposure and guided conversations in life-like, novel settings.

    • I have a few questions about SWVR before committing to a subscription. Who can I call?

    • Is there a guide to help me download the SWVR app?

    Yes! When you subscribe to SWVR, a user guide on installing the app will be enclosed in your subscription email.

    • What equipment do I need for the SocialwiseVR app to work?

    You need a PC device first to set up a Meta account.

    You need a Meta Quest headset for our client app.

    You need a strong, reliable, and private WiFi connection.

    You need a Microsoft Windows PC or Tablet for our facilitator app.

    • What kind of PC device do I need for the SWVR Facilitator app?

    Minimum required specs for the PCs:

    CPU: Intel Core i5+

    RAM: 8 GB+

    GPU: Intel Graphics or better (NVidia, AMD)+

    HDD: 256GB+

    OS: Windows 10+

    Display: 15.6-in + (1920X1080)+

    Although there's a lot of jargon in the dot points above, they are all relatively standard PC configurations.

    • I own a Meta Quest. Can I purchase just the SWVR app?

    Absolutely! There are two options at subscription checkout: one for people who own a Meta Quest and one for those who do not!

    • I don’t own a Meta Quest. Will you send me one with my subscription?

    Yes! We have a subscription option that includes the purchase of a Meta Quest! Once we receive your subscription, we will send you tracking information so you know when to expect the headset’s arrival!

    • I don’t own a Meta Quest but I have another virtual reality headset. Can I download SWVR to a different device?

    SWVR is only compatible with Meta Quest but we hope to make it available to all platforms soon!

    • How do I download and start using the SWVR app?

    We are so excited that you want to purchase the SWVR app! There are different options for purchasing a subscription. If you already own a Meta Quest, you only have to purchase the SWVR app subscription. Don’t own a Meta Quest? No problem! We can send one to you when you choose that option in checkout!

    • What is a scenario, and what is a challenge?

    Our scenarios include a variety of potential interactions that you may encounter. Challenges are obstacles that you may face during these interactions!

    • How many times can a challenge be repeated?

    A challenge can be repeated as many times as necessary. You can return to the challenge after you master the challenge if you need a refresher!

    • How do I download and start using the apps?

    We have worked with a specialized tech team to ensure that the process is super simple! All you need is a Meta account, a Meta Quest headset, Microsoft PC/Tablet and our user guide. The process only takes a few minutes!

    • Where can I download/purchase SocialwiseVR?

    Socialwise VR is only available for purchase by contacting SocialWise VR.

    • Is SocialwiseVR available on Mobile?

    Not at this time.

    • Is there an age requirement to use SocialwiseVR?

    SocialwiseVR is designed for young adults who are getting ready to attend college, currently attending college, or recently attended University. Due to the content of our curriculum, SWVR is not recommended for users who do not fall into this category.

    • Are there health risks associated with using SocialwiseVR?

    Virtual reality is not recommended for people with certain pre-existing conditions such as a history of seizures or photosensitive response on EEG, eye movement impairments such as strabismus, and migraines, or who may be prone to motion sickness. Users are responsible for reading, evaluate and follow these guidelines, warnings, and instructions.

    • I’m having trouble setting up my Meta Quest Headset - How can I troubleshoot any hardware or software issues?

    • I have allowed permission for Media to be downloaded on my device - why is the installation progress running slow?

    We advise our users upon receiving our subscription email to run the app installation process at least a day before your planned session. A stable and secure wifi connection is recommended, given the large media content our current library holds.

    • How often is the content updated?

    Our library content will be updated every six months. You will receive an email notification with the updated curriculum.

    • Can I receive a refund if I am not satisfied with SWVR?

    If you are unhappy with the product, please reach out to our customer support team to resolve any issues you may be experiencing.

  • To submit a valid claim for a refund or to cancel your subscription, you must contact SocialWise VR at contact@socialwisevr.com within the 7-day period, and respond to our requests for information or cooperation. SocialWise VR will not refund the cost of hardware (headset and notebook if applicable).
